Gas supply
Oxygen system and gas supply
in the ambulance –
safe, modular, tried and tested
hestomed develops systems for oxygen supply in the emergency medical services and gas supply in ambulances – safe and tried and tested in practice. From the hose system (redox tube system) to the redox.remote flow remote control, pressure regulators, flowmeters and pressure gauges, right through to the automatic switching system, all components form a coordinated complete system. Our solutions ensure an ergonomic, hygienic and reliable oxygen supply under real-world operating conditions and can be integrated into existing vehicle designs in accordance with standards. Made in Germany.

Reliable pressure regulation, precise flow control and redundant safety measures in the ambulance are crucial for oxygen supply in the emergency medical services.
How is a safe and uninterrupted supply of oxygen ensured in the ambulance?
A reliable oxygen supply in the emergency medical services is based on a coordinated integrated system comprising a pressure regulator, flow meter, automatic switchover unit and controlled pipework. Redundant supply systems prevent interruptions during operations, whilst standard-compliant integration into the ambulance and regular STK, MTK and DGUV V3 inspections ensure long-term operational reliability.
redox.remote: O₂ flow via remote control –
safely from the carer’s seat
redox.remote
With redox.remote, the user can precisely control the oxygen supply in the ambulance whilst securely strapped into the attendant’s seat. The control unit with its adjustment dial regulates the flow rate on the compact flowmeter, whilst the ceiling unit features a recessed outlet above the patient – hygienic, ergonomic, safe to use and free from tripping hazards.
Advantages:
• Greater safety for staff whilst on the move
• Precise flow adjustment on the flowmeter
• Robust, easy-to-disinfect design
• Medical device, developed for the emergency services
• Variants: 0–30 l (RCR1T-08-30), 0–15 l (RCR2T-08-15), 0–15 l (RCR1T-08-15)
The well-thought-out design enhances workplace safety and ensures a smooth operation during rescue missions:
• Control unit with a dial for precise adjustment of the oxygen flow, discreetly integrated into a side panel with concealed cabling.
• Ceiling unit with recessed outlet for safe oxygen extraction – conveniently installed above the patient in the vehicle.
The redox remote not only makes the oxygen supply in the vehicle safer, but also more convenient. A solution that perfectly combines technology and occupational safety.
RCR1T-08-30 – redox remote flow controller 0–30 L
RCR2T-08-15 – redox remote duo flow controller 0–15 L
A flow remote control allows the oxygen flow rate to be adjusted safely directly from the attendant’s seat. This improves workplace safety, makes operation more ergonomic and ensures that the oxygen supply in the ambulance service is controlled in a regulated manner, even whilst the vehicle is in motion.

Components of the oxygen system in the ambulance for a safe oxygen supply in the emergency medical service
Components of the oxygen system in the ambulance
Pressure regulator
The pressure reducer reduces the cylinder pressure to a safe working pressure for oxygen supply in the ambulance. It is permanently integrated into the gas supply system and ensures a stable, adjustable O₂ flow to downstream consumers such as flowmeters.
Flowmeter for precise oxygen delivery in the ambulance
The flowmeter enables precise adjustment of the O₂ flow rate for a controlled oxygen supply in the ambulance. Scales and defined detents ensure fast, reproducible flow rates in l/min – even under operational conditions.
Pressure gauge for supply reliability in the ambulance
The pressure gauge enables continuous visual monitoring of cylinder and line pressure within the oxygen system in the ambulance. It plays a key role in ensuring supply reliability and enabling scheduled cylinder changes in the emergency medical service.
Automatic switchover system for an uninterrupted oxygen supply
The automatic switchover system ensures a redundant gas supply in the ambulance by automatically switching between the primary and reserve cylinders. This ensures that the oxygen supply in the emergency services remains uninterrupted at all times, even during operations.
O₂ hoses and connectors for a safe gas supply in the ambulance
O₂ hoses and connectors ensure a safe and leak-proof connection between the supply point, flow meter and patient access point within the ambulance’s gas supply system. Vehicle-compatible lengths and well-designed routing promote hygiene, safety and trip prevention in the emergency medical services.
Which oxygen system is suitable for our ambulance?
The choice of the appropriate oxygen supply system for the emergency services depends on the type of vehicle, the operational profile and the required safety standards. Modular systems allow for customised configuration – from pressure regulation to redundant switching systems.
Our product specialists will help you choose the right solution and integrate it into your vehicle design.
