Oxygen system and gas supply
in ambulances –
safe, robust, field-proven
hestomed develops systems for oxygen supply in emergency medical services and gas supply in ambulances – safe and field-proven. From the tubing system (redox tube system) and the redox.remote flow remote control to pressure regulators, flowmeters and pressure gauges, right through to the automatic changeover unit, all components form a coordinated overall system. Our solutions ensure ergonomic, hygienic and reliable oxygen supply under real-world operating conditions and can be integrated into existing vehicle concepts in compliance with applicable standards. Made in Germany.

Safe pressure regulation and precise flow control in the ambulance are decisive for oxygen supply in emergency medical services.
How is oxygen supply in ambulances ensured safely and without interruption?
Safe oxygen supply in emergency medical services is based on a coordinated overall system of pressure regulator, flowmeter, automatic changeover unit and matched line routing. Redundant supply structures prevent interruptions during operations, while standards-compliant integration into the ambulance as well as regular manufacturer maintenance and safety inspections ensure lasting functional reliability.
redox.remote: O₂ flow via remote control –
safely from the attendant seat
redox.remote
With redox.remote, the user controls the oxygen supply in the ambulance precisely and while buckled in from the attendant seat. The control unit with adjustment wheel regulates the flow rate at the compact flowmeter; the ceiling unit provides a recessed outlet nozzle above the patient – hygienic, ergonomic, safe to work with, without trip hazards.
Benefits:
- More safety for staff while driving
- Precise flow setting at the flowmeter
- Robust, disinfectant-friendly design
- Medical device, developed for emergency medical services
- Variants: 0–30 l (RCR1T-08-30), 0-15 l (RCR1T-08-15), 0-15 duo (RCR2T-08-15)
The well-thought-out design increases occupational safety and ensures smooth workflows during rescue operations:
- Control unit with adjustment wheel for precise setting of the oxygen flow, discreetly integrated into a side wall with concealed line routing.
- Ceiling unit with recessed outlet nozzle for safe oxygen withdrawal – conveniently installed in the vehicle above the patient.
With redox remote, oxygen supply in the vehicle becomes not only safer but also more convenient. A solution that optimally combines technology and occupational safety.
RCR1T-08-30 – redox remote flow remote control 0-30 L
RCR2T-08-15 – redox remote duo flow remote control 0-15 L
A flow remote control enables safe adjustment of the oxygen flow rate directly from the attendant seat. This increases occupational safety, makes operation more ergonomic and allows oxygen supply in emergency medical services to be controlled even while driving.

Components of the oxygen system in ambulances for safe oxygen supply in emergency medical services
From pressure regulator to tubing system: the most important components
Pressure regulator
The pressure regulator reduces the cylinder pressure to a safe working pressure for oxygen supply in the ambulance. It is permanently integrated into the gas supply and ensures a stable, fixed setting of the pressure reduction from 200 bar to 4.5 bar O₂ output to downstream consumers such as flowmeters.
Flowmeter for precise oxygen dosing in ambulances
The flowmeter enables precise setting of the O₂ flow rate for controlled oxygen supply in the ambulance. Scales and defined detents ensure fast, reproducible flow values in l/min – even under operating conditions.
Pressure gauge for supply reliability in ambulances
The pressure gauge enables continuous visual monitoring of the cylinder pressure within the oxygen system in the ambulance. It contributes significantly to supply reliability and to plannable cylinder changes in emergency medical services.
Automatic changeover unit for uninterrupted oxygen supply
The automatic changeover unit ensures continuous and redundant oxygen supply in the ambulance. If the pressure of the primary cylinder drops below a defined value, the system automatically switches over to the reserve cylinder. This ensures that the oxygen supply to the connected consumers remains uninterrupted at all times, even during an ongoing operation.
REDOX.TUBE: CENTRAL SUPPLY HOSE FOR MEDICAL GAS SUPPLY
The central supply hose safely connects medical devices such as ventilators or demand valves to the central gas supply or an oxygen cylinder and ensures a reliable supply of medical gases.
redox.tube system: The system FOR GAS SUPPLY IN AMBULANCES
Safe, leak-tight connection from the connection at the pressure regulator to various outlets, such as DIN wall outlets or the redox.remote, with optimised line routing.
Which oxygen system is suitable for our ambulance?
The choice of the right oxygen supply in emergency medical services depends on the vehicle type, operational profile and the desired safety requirements. Modular systems allow individual configuration – from pressure regulation to the changeover unit.
Our product specialists support you in selecting and integrating the system into your vehicle concept.
